Please take no offence to this post. I put this on most computer posts until it can be added to the help bot. People asking for Computer help please read. To be able to help you we need to have more detail than "there was an error and now the computer does not start" with that information there is no way that we can help. here is a list of information that if you send along then we can help better. -what operating system(what windows ie: xp, vista, 98, etc.) -desktop or laptop. -make and model -any error messages exactly as they were displayed. -any odd noises, or smells that have ocoured since the problem. -let us know if you have installed any new hardware or software since the problem. By posting this information the first time round we don't have to ask and can resolve the issue faster. Basicly we need more info in most cases. just something to keep in mind.
Answer:
Sometimes Windows just gets stupid. You can try re-loading the driver. 1) Go to CONTROL PANEL, click on SYSTEM, click on the HARDWARE tab, and click on DEVICE MANAGER. 2} Next click on DISPLAY ADAPTERS and then double click on the device name. 3} Select the driver tab and then update driver. 4) The Hardware update wizard should come up. Select THIS TIME ONLY and hit NEXT. 5) Select INSTALL FROM A LIST and hit next. 6} Click on DON’T SEARCH and hit next. 7} Find your video processor in the list and hit next. If this doesn’t work you will need to Google for your video processor, (the manufacturer, model number and operating system). Search for updated drivers. You can check at www.driverguide.com if you can’t find the mfrs site. It’s free just sign up. If you have just converted to Vista there may not be an updated driver yet. When you find the updated driver just follow the steps above until you get to HAVE DISK and enter the location of the new driver software. If you’re unfamiliar with the type of video processor you can go to http://www.download.com/Belarc-Advisor/3000-2094_4-10716621.html and download Belarc Advisor, it’s free and it will tell you all about your hardware and software.
