mitosis is where the daughter cells (the ones produced) are identical to the parent cells (the one where it comes from), like clones of the parent cell. the daughter cells have the same amount of chromosomes as the parent cell. meiosis is where there is half the the number of chromosomes in the daughter cell as to what the parent cell had. meiosis happens in the formation of sperm and egg cells. this is because they need half the number of chromosomes so that when they fuse together they have the correct number to make the offspring. for example inhumans meiosis produce 23 chromosomes then when the sperm and the egg fuse together they produce 46 chromosomes, the number present for humans. mitosis (sooo much easyer to spell lol) happens in themeking of cells such as skin . actually mitosis is used everyhere except the s e x cells. hope that helps. and that i havent totally confuzzzeled you lol. gd luk 4 u test. mee x
