I gotta do something different can someone tell me what im doing wrong?

Everywhere I work I end up quitting because they all hate me or maybe im just paranoid. I know im late alot and it sounds like an excuse but i never sleep well and after a few months i get nasty looks from everyone i know i suck to work with cuz of my lateness but i cant help it now my job history is ugly and it keeps getting worse should i get medication i can barely afford and starve ? I hate being sleep deprived so much and Ive been told to cowboy up which is so ignorant i want to give them all insomnia and see how well they deal with hallucinations. hell

First of all, i would say you have to enjoy what you do..it sounds to me that you dont enjoy these workplaces. Ive had the same problem as you, it comes and goes but overall its a very troubling thing. I have never seeked medication but i have my own routine to get through it. To keep my mind from drifting and keeping me awake i lay down in front of the tv and turn the volume just high enough to hear but not keep me awake. I try to get as much physical exercise during the day to keep me needing sleep. and if all else fails...and i really dont suggest this at all but i have a few drinks. Ive found a job now working from 3pm until 11pm and it fits my sleep irregularities a bit better. I still find from time to time the hallucinations...but there has been a significant drop. hope that helps

Wow. It sounds like you have a serious problem. If you can afford to go to the dr. and he or she suggests that you need a sleep aid. You can start by asking the dr or pharmacist for samples of the drug. (just to insure that it will work for you as weel as to buy you time before you have to buy it. Also ask the dr. to prescibe a drug that comes in a generic. Many place now offer the generic drugs for 4$.

You might try working freelance. If you feel you can stay on a task you could set your own schedule this way. Many people with health issues do contract work for major companies or they set up their own businesses and work one on one with clients. Some great natural sleep aides I have tried are valerian and melatonin which can be found at your local health food store or in a vitamin/supplement shop.
