i share a house with this guy for five years.

Ask:
we’re really good friends. he tells me all the problems he’s havin with girls and i givee him a girls perspective. i give up alot of my time to listen to him. problem is, when the tables are turned and i need some advice, he doesnt give me the time of day. should i tell him that he’s really pissing me off or should i just say nothing for the sake of peace in the house?

Answer:
maybe he just can't give advice? i know a few people who need shoulders to cry on but can't take on other problems. Its prob just the way hes programmed nothing to do with not caring about you, or maybe he just doesn't know what to do.
Answer:
he wont even listen though. just gets up and walk away. its not even that i want advice, just someone to listen
Answer:
He probably feels awkward, like he doesn't know how to deal with others emotions. I know men like that, they just don't know what to do, even how to listen!! Maybe you could have a quiet adult chat, nothing aggressive, none of this 'you are really pissing me off' lark. Just ask him why he can't listen to your probs when you are feeling down.
Answer:
Tell him that you offer him advice and support, and that you would like the same in return. Like Sarah said, none of that pissy stuff, be mature in this situation... You don't wanna cause unwanted tension.
