Holiday question

Ask:
Hi! I wasn't sure where to put this, but this section made the most sense....

When you decorate for the holidays, do you take regular stuff down (if you are a knick knack person, or picture frame freak like myself), and then put it back up after the Holidays? And if so where and how do you store it?

I'm looking around and i have a TON of space taken up by picture frames, candles, etc. (end table, an entire server) and I could really use that space for the Holidays, not only for decorations but to have company and give us more space on Christmas. SO I thought about storing the clutter until after the Holidays. Do you do that or do you just work around what you have out?
Answer:

Yep, yep, yep! I store my Christmas stuff in rubbermaid containers...so I always put the "normal" stuff back in the same tubs...and that way they are safely stored in the attic..just like the Christmas is the other 11 months of the year!! I have way too much "stuff" to leave out both everyday and Christmas items!!
Answer:

I think that is what I may do this year...trade off items and store the regular stuff in the rubbermaids...Thanks Jennifer!
Answer:

I normally dont take knick knacks and stuff down I just find other places to put the holiday decorations up.
Answer:

I take knick knacks and pictures down and store them in the boxes and tubs that my Christmas stuff came out of...when I go and put all my Christmas stuff away...I bring my regular stuff back out.

I think it helps to make it less cluttered...but then again, if you've ever been to my house around the holidays...my Christmas stuff makes the house look more cluttered than my normal stuff....I have way too much!!!
Answer:

I also put my everyday things in teh Xmas boxes.
Answer:

I actually decluttered my knickknacks last year and have not brought them out- I stored them (in a rubbermaid tote in our shed) all last year whenever I got ready for Halloween. I knew that we would be painting the livingroom and everything so I packed it all away and now the box there in is collecting the dust. I ususally put up the halloween decorations in the last week of Sept., Thanksgiving I have no decorations- execpt what the kids bring home for school, and I start decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. My hubby hates how early I decorate for Christmas, but I'm the only one who does that so tough! Anyways, I am thinking about going through the stuff I have and getting rid of it- the only thing I have up now is jar candles (I love candles) and my bamboo plant. My livingroom has little to no clutter and I really enjoy it that way!
Answer:

It isn't really an issue for me because I don't like clutter so I don't have any knick knacks, framed photographs etc It's just not my thing. But also when I decorate for the holidays, it's really simply too. So even if I had stuff around, I probably wouldn't have to move it.
Answer:

I do the same thing as blessed with 6 does.
Answer:

I must be the only one that decorates around the other stuff. Maybe I just don't have as much stuff. Either way, works for me!
