It's frustrating. My little guy is like the absent-minded professor. He remembers every Bionicle, how he built them, every detail about every dinosaur and animal, yet he forgets that I just asked him to feed his fish or put his pjs in the hamper. With Aspergers, it's a given, but at other times, he remembers. He has started something new: he will quote over and over what he has to do. He gets fanatical about it until it's done.

I ask them once and if they don't do it, I start counting to three. My boys know that once mommy gets to three they will be punished (usually a toy or privilege taken away), so by two they usually do what I asked.

This is what we do, too. It has started to show results once you figure out what it is that works for each child. My oldest is TV and my middle is his bike. The baby is still too young to get it, but pretty soon....

DD is the same way. She listens to everyone but me & DH. It's very frustrating. We've tried taking things away, time out, privilages for good behavior, no tv, etc. She doesn't care. Nothing we have done helps. We keep being told that it's the age. If so, when can we except this to pass, sometime bfore 18?
