CMA Awards

Ask:
Ah duh!!! I meant to say CMA ~ Country Music Awards......sorry. I haven't finished my coffee yet!

I have to say. I am not the biggest country music fan out there. I know only the popular bands and singers. But what I do know about country music is how upbeat and fun it is to listen and dance to. However, last night SUCKED all around. Everyone was singing a slow ballad and in my opinion was not singing it well at all. To me, Martina McBride was the best one...but she can never sound bad!

I was very disappointed in that show. And the hosts too.
Answer:

I agree with you to a degree. My husband refused to watch because singers like Toby Keith and Trace Adkins aren't there. He likes the upbeat stuff. Several of the acts I saw literally sucked. I turned to Deal or No Deal and then flipped back occasionally hoping to catch something good, but the only act I saw that I enjoyed was Rascal Flats.

I did too and that was my first night watching that show!!!!

What did you think of that blonde lady? Shows like this just show how greedy we really are, don't they? I would have walked with the $220,000 but she went one more time.
Answer:

I like Rascal Flatts too! They seem humble as well which I like.
Answer:

I watched it between commercials and tivo'd it (I was going to TIVO my shows instead, but I only wanted to see the performances)...I saw Sugarland and thought they were great, gotto see Rascall Flatts accept their award and see Kenny Chesney win entertainer of the Year (yay!) I turned off Sara Evans when I checked on it and she was on.

I agree with Hawkhoe's DH....If Toby and Trace are missing, it just ain't gonna be good....and is anyone else tired of Brooks and Dunn winning...I know Ronnie Dunn is!
Answer:

Okay I just watched it back (most of it in FF ) I didn't think it was terrible...It had a decent mix of ballads and fast songs (Miranda Lanmbert, Dirks Bently, Jason Aldean, Sugarland, I know there were a few more), I guess it just happens that current hits are ballads and Gretchen Wilson chose to try and promote her new song instead of Politically Incorrect (mistake I think).

I love the song Brad Paisley performs and loved that his wife (KImberly Williams-Paisley)was all teary when she applauded...but more than that I laughed when she flubbed on stage trying to see her lins and said something about being married to a country singer, and now she's 'knocked up and blind'...

And Josh Turner....OH MY...I love his voice, and he's a handsome guy but he looked, HOT last night....(Oh and he sang well too )
Answer:

I have to agree some were just not on the mark.
I didn't think Rascal Flatts,Kenny Chesney,Gretchen Wilson, Miranda Lambert, Faith Hill, the Wreckers, Brad Paisley or even that first song by Brooks and Dunn were all that good. Carrie Underwood, Josh Turner and Sugarland were my favorites last night.
Even my favorite cutie pie Dirks wasn't all that great.
Answer:

They just never sound the same at the awards shows.....even my all time favorite:George Strait does not always sound his best at those shows. I wonder why that is?

Because he wasn't wearing his Wranglers! I had it on last night while he was singing and he was...okay, but not great...it's b/c he wasn't wearing his signature Wranglers!!
Answer:

I agree on some of the performers on there I thought it was awsome George Straight being inducted into the hall of fame.I liked Rascal Flatts and George and Vince Gill there was alot I liked the only one i was not happy with was Kenny he sounded a little off.
