Ask:
I just found out that there is an academic focus charter school where we are moving to. I talked to the director and it sounds fantastic. It is small, they have 2 teachers per class, the expectations are high and they try to teach to individual learning styles. I am going to see it on Friday. The only problem is that they don't have a 3rd grade class this year. Next year they will have all the grades (K-6). I have boys in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade. Would it be bad if my 3rd grader went to a different school from the other two for part of one year? He has to change schools next year anyway since the public elementary is divided in k-3 and 4-6 schools.
Answer:
I sure wish they had something like that around here. The only charter schools in our area are for troubled kids who have been expelled from public school systems.
