Holiday Lights

Ask:
Do you decorate the outside of your house for the holidays?
Answer:

I was always the gung -ho one at my parents (even after I moved out) decorating the house and making my Dad get into the spirit and put up decorations with me...last year we didn't but mostly b/c I have no outside outlets in the front and the garage plug is oin the back and I'd need really long ext cords.). I do go all out for the inside of the house (every year we add a little more)... Now If I could figure out a way to do the front I'm all over it!
Answer:

I haven't decorated outside the house as of yet. But I have said when I get the extra money I like the wreaths & ribbons on the windows and the pine garland on the porch and a light in the yard shining on it. I think it looks post cardish. And much easier then the fuss of tangled lights.
Answer:

We have such steep roof lines here that we can't do the house lights up high, but instead, I do all around the yard, bushes, garage, etc. We also do a full light up Nativity Scene with a homemade stable and manger dh made!! Last year, each time we came in, MaryGrace would run kiss baby Jesus!! It was PRECIOUS!
Answer:

We put lights around the porch and garage. Our roof is too steep to put lights on.
Answer:

I'd love to go all out and decorate like crazy, however getting DH to help me....well, I stand a better chance of pulling all my hair out strand by strand before he'll do it. He put lights up on the house for me once and it was awful trying to nag to get it done. Never again, so I don't do it unless I can do it alone. The inside of the house is pretty done up usually.....and I add more every year, too.
Answer:

My dh put lights up on the outside of our house last year but it was March before they came down! (He was a framer for years so he isn't afraid of heights.) I know some people leave their lights up all year but I don't want to be one of them. So I'm not sure I want them up again this year or not if it takes that long to get them down.
Answer:

Yes...we do some simple lighting. I put wreaths on all our windows with cranberry colored bows. If a window has a window box, I plant small fir trees and string them with white lights. If the window doesn't have a window box, I use an interior candle light. We get a lot of compliments on our house during the holidays and have gotten postcards in the mail from passerbys who told us how pretty it was. I love the holidays!
Answer:

After everyone decorates you'll have to post pictures I would love too see!

This is me exactly. If I waited on DH, he would wait long enough to not bother and I tried the nagging route and that just makes for a cranky mom. I like to have things done early so I can take a couple weeks enjoying the holiday season without massive amounts of stuff to do. Like a lot of things, if it is important to me, I just have to do it myself.
