Answer:

Answer:
I remember reading that with my first daughter and so I never ate lunchmeat at all.... with second DD I asked my doctor and he laughed, saying it was so rare it was unbelievable. So I ate it all the time. I am not eating a lot of it this time, because I am super paranoid. my biggest prob right now is craving tuna 24/7 and not being able to eat it because of the mercury. I am not loving the pregnancy thing so much this time around.
Answer:
It's hard to know what's normal precautions and what's going alittle crazy. I think I ate tuna a couple times while pregnant, I sometimes microwaved my lunch meat--when I remembered, and I tried to avoid aspertame and caffine. Check w/ your dr about the tuna. I think they say you can have so many oz of tuna and other fish per week or month or something, but to totally avoid some fish--like sword fish. I figure that moderation is the key. I can say that now--I have a healthy baby, but while I was pregnant I was kind of paranoid. Good luck! Happy food avoiding
Answer:
I have heard this and still did not and do not do it. I guess I never knew the reason it was required.
Answer:
I never heard of this and never did it either and I had 7 healthy babies!
Answer:
I'm not much of a lunchmeat person anyway, but according to What to Expect When You're Expecting, which I followed with Aidan, you can have 3 1/2 ounces of tuna, packed in water, a day. Other than staying away from lunchmeat and soft cheeses, I pretty much ate what I wanted during my pregnancy with Aidan, and I have a feeling, I'll do the same with this one. If the nausea doesn't kill me first.
Answer:
I'm trying not to be paranoid about it, but they do say that if you would contract Listeria while pregnant that it could be very serious for the baby. You never know how well those meat slicers are cleaned at the store. I guess since I've lost 2 while pregnant, one at 4 months, I'm extra cautious! I don't eat tuna so thankfully I don't have to worry about that! I wrote "nuke 1st" on my pack of ham so I remember from now on-LOL!
