Have a really clean house or a really neat house (in this you can't have both at the same time). My mom's house was Really clean. Most of the time you could eat off the floor! But it was...cluttered.
Now our house is very neat 90% of the time but only Really clean as in 'just cleaned' clean about 50% of the time.
Yet, it looks better and I feel better in it. Which would you rather have if you could have only one?

To be honest, I would prefer a really clean house. I enjoy deep cleaning. It's cleansing for me too!!! It doesn't get done a whole lot, but I do enjoy doing it and I do enjoy having guests over when it's just been done.
I do think, for the most part anyway, my house is fairly neat. My boys are pretty good about tidying up when it's time to tidy up and they know their toys have homes. If it ever gets to be like a free for all, I just start removing toys from their collection.

In my dreams...NEAT...cause I could at least have someone come over without fear of being "caught" with the clutter. The CLEAN part, I only would worry over with overnight guests!!

I like my house to be uncluttered and neat - we only have a tiny house and it feels so much nicer to be in when there are flat surfaces that aren't covered in junk. As to the clean bit, i like things to be 'not dirty' but am not obsessive about getting rid of bit of dirt that floats in as soon as it enters. Mind you, if it looked dirty, i wouldn't be happy.

I would prefer a clean house. I guess I don't really understand how you have a clean house if you have a too cluttered house because you can't really get to the house to clean it! I've seen too many nasty nasty dirty houses. I'm not saying my house is clean or neat - I would just prefer people to have to move a toy or a few papers out of the way to sit but not to be disgusted by my house!
