Do-it Yourselfers: Do you get more satisfaction making something, or buying it? I was just looking around my home and thinking the pieces I like most or take most pride in are the ones I made or did myself rather than buying. Anyone else feel the same way?

I feel the same way. I'm not that crafty so when something turns out I'm just filled with pride every time I see it.

I like the stuff I make more then the ones I buy. Everytime I walk in my kitchen I feel pride seeing my cabinets that I refinished and what a difference they made. I try to do most things myself if I can.

I LOVE making things! It is such a bonus when someone likes what I have done, too. It is a huge boost to my self esteem. I know I am a good mom most of the time, and all that, but as a stay at home mom, sometimes my self esteem on who I really am does down the tubes!

It depends on the project. A lot of times when I have something in mind and then find a GREAT deal on it, I get a SUPER HUGE high from all my time and research!!!
However, I also get a huge rush from working really hard on something, finally have it completed and then having it admired by someone else.
It all depends.....
