Ask:
did anyone catch the Oprah on monday about the baby language. as an experienced mom I already new the language although I didn't realize I did or how to teach it to someone else. It was really good. This would be good for first time parents. eventually you learn to recognize the cries but it would be very helpful to know what to listen for ahead of time. Of course the DVD comes out just in time for the xmas rush- right around thanksgiving.

Answer:
That was incredible and very easy how that woman explained the "baby language". I wish I would've known about it a few months ago. My 3rd baby is 4 months old now and for some reason I had a lot harder time figureing out her needs than I did with the other 2. I am definitley getting the DVD for the next baby shower I go to, I think it would be great gift!
Answer:
I saw this on orpah and it was great. I start noticeing some sounds in my baby.
Answer:
I wish I would've had that information when Carson was little. I was never around babies so it was all a mystery to me. On top of it he cried all the time...very colicky and had an allergy to breast milk and was in a ton of pain. To understand his cries earlier would've made all the difference in my sanity at the time, I think.
Answer:
She has figuared out what the pre-cry noises our babies make means. It was amazing. I mean after having 4 kiddos she showed the differant cried and said this means this... I was like DUH it really does!! I will try and find the paper I wrote the sounds down on and post it. It was amazing. She is from Aust. if I remember correctly.
Here is her web site
The sounds are:
Neh="I'm hungry"
Owh="I'm sleepy"
Heh="I'm experiencing discomfort"
Eair="I have lower gas"
Eh="I need to burp"
Those "words" are actually sound reflexes, Priscilla says. "Babies all around the world have the same reflexes, and they therefore make the same sounds," she says. If parents don't respond to those reflexes, Priscilla says the baby will eventually stop using them.
Priscilla recommends that parents listen for those words in a baby's pre-cry before they start crying hysterically. She says there is no one sound that's harder to hear than others because it varies by individual. She also says some babies use some words more than others.
The Dunstan Baby Language DVD will be available November 27. Visit to pre-order your copy today.
