Question about cereal feeding

Ask:
How should i start feeding my baby cereal, in a bottle or spoon fed? I tried the bottle but the cereal is too thick to come out the nipple, and spoon feeding well i think she gets more on her self then in her mouth. What did you do?
Answer:

Don't put cereal in the bottle! If your baby is 4-6 months old, start using a spoon. You only need to start feeding a couple of tablespoons at a time, so think tiny amounts. Be sure to mix the cereal with formula or breastmilk, whatever your baby has been eating up till now so it will have a somewhat familiar taste. Many babies will thrust out the spoon from the mouth in the beginning so just be patient and try again in a few days if it's not working right away.

Cereal is only recommended in the bottle by doctors for a very small percentage of babies with some stomach issues. Don't put it in the bottle unless your doctor specifically recommends it.
Answer:

I spoon feed. I make it kind of runny. DD takes it better that way. She will usually only take 5-7 spoonfuls, which I'm told is pretty good. I try to keep the spoon right under her mouth and keep putting what she pushed out right back in.

How old is your DD?
Answer:

my baby is 5 months old, i'm glad i asked this i really needed to know.
Answer:

Lou has it right on the nose. They say they will overeat if its in the bottle. My youngest had to have it in the bottle, but only a little bit because if his teriible spitting up. Otherwise, use a spoon.
Answer:

Also by spoon, because your baby has to get used to it and learn to eat from it.
