Ask:
I've been researching ways to make and save a little
money especially now during the holiday season. Here
are a few things I have found that really work.
Thought I'd share what I have found.
1)Online shopping? Get some cash back from Ebay, Old
Navy, Target, Best Buy....
On Big Crumbs, Quick Rewards, and Ebates, if you go
through them to get to many
online sites you get some cash back on your purchases.
If you plan on doing holiday shopping anyway online,
this is a good deal. There are lots of stores
(Overstock, Circuit City, Gap, Apple Store, HP,
buy.com, ...) They have a huge list.
It's totally free. It looks like they makes
money from these sites advertising on their site.
They provide links to the stores and when you buy
stuff from the links you get a certain percentage
back. I think you can still use your own coupons when
you go to check out at the online store from whatever
site you go to.
You can also get cash when you friends buy stuff as
well. On Big Crumbs and Quick Rewards, you can keep
earning a % when your friends buy stuff, but on Ebates
you only get a flat $5 when someone you refer buys
something for the first time. But, Ebates gives you
higher percentages back and you get $5 for yourself
when you sign up.
On Quick Rewards you can get some cash other ways as
well. You earn free cash by visiting websites,
shopping, daily signups, daily trivia, signups,
trials, surveys and much more.
2)Write reviews on Epinions. I have made $205.14 from
writing reviews every so often. I'm going to try and
start writing more. It's real easy to write a review,
especially now that we have so many baby produts to
write on. You get a few cents every time someone
reads your review.
Hope this helps some of you. I know especially this
time of year I'm always looking for ways to make and
save money.

Here are some ways I've been using:
1. Use up old Gift Cards to purchase new gifts. This year I had Target and Walmart gift cards with a balance and plan to use to purchase stocking stuffers.
2. Use up your grocery stockpile. Beside buying things like milk and eggs, we could live off our grocery supply for an entire month! We're going to be following a "use it up" strategy the next couple months to offset holiday purchases
3. Look for freebies and bargains on this board!
Answer:
I am trying to do your #2, Kim. I have a stockpile, too. I am also trying to eat in more than we have been. It is saving us a ton of money!
Answer:
Me too (using grocery stockpile) and I've been going to allrecipes.com and you can do a search for recipes using the ingredients you have and/or don't have! It's pretty cool!
Plus I always make too much and have tons of leftovers but I am making less and not taking the chance of wasting the leftovers b/c I forgot about them in the fridge. Same w/vegetables that I buy, I am chopping them up right away and freezing them as I always forget about them in the crisper and they start rotting!
Answer:
I love ebates and the using up the stockpile is a great idea. Epinions is a site that I have visited but I didn't know people made money off their opinions---cool, I'll have to check it out!
Answer:
I also recently took a bunch of gently used kids' clothing to Once Upon a Child (resale shop) and got cash for it - about $20, enough to buy one gift.
Answer:
I just started doing My Points. One of my best friends refered me, she's been doing it for a while and she's earned a lot of stuff.
Answer:
Tell me more about mypoints. Someone recommended this to me and I have no idea what it is.

WHich is the better way to go? Resale shop, ebay, or garage sale?
Answer:
I like the resale shop- I did it for the first time last month and got $40
I have never sold on ebay- too me Ihave not had the time to learn hoe to sell and then you have to go to the post office- too much trouble with my kids right now.
Gagrage sale- you have to put out an ad- then everyone wants to buy for 50 cents or $1
IT really all depends on what you have to sell I guess. My SIL swears by ebay.
