My sister has three children...and all of hers came out of a book! Well, her youngest dd and ds due in March both have family middle names. ME, though, Lord how I searched through family names to find the "perfect" one. With six, believe me, we were running out in the end!!!

My former DH and I both had grandfathers with the same name and I was supposed to be a boy and to have that name so that's the name we gave our son. Apparently there had been another family member too with my son's name (on DH's father's side obviously) that was kind of a scoundrel and no one really liked so ex MIL was not too happy with that name. To appease her, we picked her father's name for DS middle name. Luckily the names all work together well and are all good strong traditional names which are still popular but not TOO popular. Just what I wanted!

my oldest dd's first name came from a book, her middle name is from her daddy and from my best friend for all my life (most of it anyway).
my youngest dd's we came up with on the way to the hospital to have her, We used a name of a country singer's daughter that we liked. her middle name we got by using my dad's name and part of my middle name, her middle name is Donn (pronounced like Dawn - this is how my niece spells it, i like the Donn better!!!)

Neither, we knew what names we liked. Jenna's was the hardest b/c we didn't really love it but we needed a 5 letter J name and we didn't like any others. If we have another boy he will be named Jacob.

I think our childrens first names will be from a book, but the middle names will be family names. Kaylee was from a book, and her middle name Mae is my MIL middle name. We consulted books for our baby's name, though the middle name was after a relative. My sister also used a book and we chose pretty wacky names because we are just thos kind of people My sons name is indeed Apollo (hence Apollo's Mom). He fits right in our family, his cousins name is Thor! We love unique names.
