DS had only worn Huggies since birth but they changed something in them and now he gets a rash from them. At first I thought it was something he was eating or drinking causing the rash but at his 1 yr. checkup our Pedi. said it was a contact rash. I bought Luvs and he's worn them for 3 days and nights, all 3 nights he has leaked. What brand or generic fits like Huggies?

wow, I wish I could help...I just love Huggies and I have never had that problem. Can you put powder on him and use the Huggies?? or diaper rash cream?? I wish I had a better suggestion. Good luck.
I do know that you can buy two different Huggies...there are the Natural Touch or Care ones and the regular ones..I was confused at the store once...are you sure you are buying the same ones??

I also haven't seen where Huggies changed!! What size is he in? You might find he needs a smaller or bigger size...could be they are either too loose on him, thus it is "escaping" or they are too little and don't hold enough. I have used Luvs on four of my six with no problems. We used Huggies on the older two.

I agree it is possible you might need a bigger size. I used Luvs with both of my kids and didn't have a problem. My dd also developed a rash a few weeks ago and we have determined it is from the Huggies pull ups we were using at bedtime. I wasn't quite ready to let her wear big girl panties to bed but so far so good. We have only one accident in 2 weeks.

I'm a Pampers person, but I had horrible trouble with all 3 of mine leaking out of Huggies. Never had a problem with Pampers. I like the cruisers, but baby dry work well too.

Both my kids are very soap and fragrance sensitive. We have used White Cloud diapers from Walmart because they have no fragrance or anything like that and they are cheaper than luvs or Huggies. I have not had a problem w/ them leaking. Other generic brands like Dollar Store brand diapers do leak though.

try a bigger size, with my second ds, I have used Babis r us brand, walmart brand, target brand and had no problems at all. If he does get a rash, it might be he needs a bigger siz,e I also use A&D lotion for ds and that protects the skin and prevents a rash.

I emailed Huggies this morning and ask them what the difference between the new diapers and the old. Their reponse, which came within a few hours, is the new diapers have something called LeakLock which basically is a different absorbing material in them. The Natural Fit diapers do not have it yet but will within the next few months. My son was wearing the baby-shaped diapers. I will try the Natural Fit and if they work I will try to stock up on them before the change. Ds wears a size 4, he is 22lbs and 4's go up to 35 or 37lbs. I'm posting a link to the new huggies diapers, they are really cute with new designs.

I've been a Pampers Cruisers user since day one with both of my kids and have had no problems. The 8 month old I watch uses the Costco brand (Kirkland) and they seem to be very, very similar to Huggies. HTH

i have found the only ones that don't give my kids a rash are walmarts parents choice or white cloud and target brand. target brand where we live is the beast price for a case of diapers. luvs leaked with my kids they just did not fit there body shape well.
