Kindergarten Math

Ask:
After reading the post about different types of Phonic Programs. I was wondering what math programs everyone uses.

My son is called Everyday Mathmatics/Mathmatics at Home

The program is based on The University of Chicago School Mathematics Project's Everyday Mathematics program is a program that "does mathematics." it relies on dealogue and discussion, experimentation and discovery.

Children who are read to, learn to read. Everyday Mathematics supports the belief that children who are "mathed with," learn mathematics. Doing mathmatics together can be as pleasant for families sharing a good book. (Manuel again)

We just received these books a couple weeks ago. You get a week to work on it.

One of the lessons was: Stand in front of your house or apartment building. How many windows can be seen? How many doors? Now count the windows and doors in the back. Which had more windows? Which had fewer doors?

The one we are doing tonight is to: Line up five or more of your favorite toys. Which one is first? Second? Fifth? Count them in order first, second, third and so on.

I'll have to check that out. We use singapore Early Bird that came with our sonlight program. It's ok, but it's a little too workbook-y for me. Your program sounds great!
