Ask:
I made this for a gift...it is a lap quilt that folds up into a bag like pocket and makes a pillow.. I made mine out of fleece (solid pink) and flannel (the print)
folded into the pillow
open on the pocket side
Answer:
Cute...we need directions!!!
Answer:
very simple, decide how large you want your lap quilt have two peice of fabric the same size and then about a 10x12 peice and the first thing is you sew the pocket on the right side of one of the peices of fabric(put the center of the fabric on the exact center of the peice of fabric), then you sew the two peices together right side together, leaving a opening to flip it right side out, then I just close that up when I top stitch around the edge of the whole thing... to fold it up you fold it into thirds long wise making sure to leave the pocket on the outside and then you fold down into thirds too into the pocket to make a pillow..

My three older children have these that their grandmother made when they were little. The younger three missed out since she went back to work before they were born! They are SUPER for travel. My kids like to use the fold part, that holds as a pillow, for their feet! They hook their feet inside that to keep the blanket on them when sleeping in the van!
Answer:
yeppers us too...put our feet in the pockets...the ones for the kids were kinda short so we started making them larger for the mommys...heheh

Answer:
We have one I received for a baby gift. We keep it in pillow form on my DS bed all the time and we have used it for traveling too. Great on airplanes since it can be used as a pillow or blanket!
Answer:
My mom made these for everyone a few years back. She used just a single piece of fleece, putting a decorative handstitch along the edge with contrasting colored embroidery floss, then sewed on the pocket in the middle at the bottom, like pictured. They aren't as heavy, but they were nice to use as a light cover for the baby. We keep one in the car for picnics/covering up. I love these!
Answer:
I made one with fabric I brought back from Hawaii (a souvenir to remember our trip by) and love it! The pocket is great to put your feet in to keep them warm. I hadn't thought of making them out of fleece. That would be great. Especially if made smaller for a baby. Now I'm going to have to make some. Hopefully I didn't just miss it but did you put any batting in it? Thanks
Answer:
I did not put batting in this one, that was made with fleece and flannel, but I usually put batting in them with I only use flannel for both sides
