Ask:
My dd is almost four and has accidents in her jammies about 3 times a wk. She is soap sensitive so we use All free & clear and no fabric softener due to flammability resistance. When she wets in her jammies, even after using color safe bleach and detergent and soaking them for 20 min., they still smell like urine. Help!
Answer:
Try putting 1 cup of baking soda in with your wash. I used it when my niece slept over at our house. She has CF so her accidents smell really bad. The smell came right out of all of her things and the sheet.
Answer:
Vinegar, too.
Answer:
This is what I do: Soak the area with cold water. Sprinkle on oxyclean (I use the $1 store ripoff Oxyburst), then I spray/drizzle on some Simple Green (I mix like a half of a cup water with a splash of the cleaner) and scrub with an old toothbrush or laundry brush. This has ALWAYS worked for me and gotten every smell/spot out of my laundry and carpets. (Having a messy 2 year old and housetraining a puppy make a lot of spots/smells!) I also add white vinegar to the wash when I want to remove smells from things (smoke, pet urine, etc) - it works.
Answer:
i always use vinehgar for getting any urine smells out. my cats have accidents sometimes and that really reaks. so i use vinegar.
