Ask:
Just wondering how many of you are giving "recycled" gifts this season.
Answer:
I gave two. My son got two Polar Express DVDs last year and two Hans Solo action figures. Well, guess what his pre-K $5 gift exchagne was? And, I gave our babysitter's family the Polar Express because I knew they didn't have it.
Answer:
Yup. Mostly small stuff. I'm using some of my freebies for stocking stuffers. And we got a little bar set a couple of years ago that we never really used, so I polished it up nicely and it will go to my bil. I also regift stuff from white elephant parties or small gift exchanges--always to different parties, though.
Answer:
I have no problem re-gifting. If you have something that you think someone would like then why not? I have re-gifted a lot of things from our wedding reception. My aunt gave us some party lite candles with glass holders that are very nice but not our style so I don't see anything wrong with giving them to someone who would actually use them.
I too use a lot of freebies for gifts, especially in gift baskets.
Answer:
YEP! We did. My sil and future sil each are getting a basket (bought the baskets for 25 cents at a thrift store), filled with candles, lotions, and other goodies we had around the house. Sounded like a good deal to me!
Answer:
no problem here regifting.. If I know it is something that is just going to sit around in my house and someone else will/can use it they get it.... I don't feel fuilty at all either. My dh at first was against it but is all for it now that he see's how much money it can/will save us over the years. Most of the time it is kids clothes my MIL buys my dd clothes all the time and a kids can only use so many clothes for so long in a certain size and she buys things because she thinks they LOOK bigger than they really are.
Answer:
Sure I regift. I have regifted many candles that I have gotten and some picture frames and toys. Why not do it if the item is new!
Answer:
I think if i have something I know someone else would like and I dont want it , why not.
Answer:
i absolutely regift... my mil bought my fiance pj's for his birthday.... he wears a 3x, and she got an XL... so they are going to my step dad (different party)..
but one year.... my mom and my uncle work together as opticians, and as incentives, sometimes they get gifts from head office like books, candles, decorative mirrors, etc. well, my mom had made an order for some lens formers (look like plastic cookies), and they were not coming... they did however get a box that had a picture of a candle holder set and scented candles... my uncle was in need of a christmas gift, so he took the box, wrapped it, and gave it to one of our family friends. at the christmas party, we were all sitting around opening presents, when she opened the package of "candles".
to my uncle's horror, it was a repackaged order for lens formers. she was like 'oh my, what are these' talk about embarassment!
lesson learned... make sure the gift you are giving is new, and also make sure it is actually a gift, first lol.
Answer:
I normally don't have a problem regifting if it is in good shape and I think the person would like it...
