How much of your kids clothing is...

Ask:
store-bought (retail) versus hand-me-downs or purchased at discount stores or yard sales? How much of your own clothing is from retail/discount/yard sale??
Answer:

Only about 5 % of DS are hand me downs, luckily I have cousins a little older than him,so my aunt saves their clothing for him ( Idon't know how she does it, but they always look good and not worn!) and some of it is even new! DD~ only 1 jean jacket in her closet is a hand me down. I do try and take care of her clothng as well, b/c I give back to the same aunt, my cousin is 2 years younger than DD, and I think the less we have to spend for clothing...the better!

I try and buy everything on sale, I think out of all the kids clothing, 2 piece were bought at regular price. (And I'm talking Target regular price so the most expensive is 11.99 for a skirt). I lothe paying full price!

My closet is almost everything bought on sale, or my mom purchased new for me. I do have 2 dresses from goodwill that were brand new and look awesome.
Answer:

My oldest son has about 50% retail (on deep sale or clearance), 50% hand me downs. My second son has about 90% hand me downs, 5% e-bay or consignment, and 5% retail. My dd has about 25% retail (again deep discount and off season sales), 70% hand me downs and 5% consignment sales.

I am mostly 95% retail (deep sales when I actually buy clothes) and 5% e-bay.
Answer:

I buy a lot more retail than I used to. It's harder for me to find good deals at garage sales now that my kids are older (7 and 3). My son still has about 20% pre-worn clothing in his wardrobe. My daughter, maybe only 5% (she is also very picky about what she wears). Also, I am always finding things on the clearance racks at Old Navy for $.97-$1.97 which is cheaper than garage sale prices.
Answer:

Kids clothes are my weakness. My three year old has about 5% hand me downs, but we are no longer living near the people who used to give me their kids clothes, so starting this Spring--no hand me downs my youngest daughter has about 40% hand me downs from big sis. And this last baby, depending on sizes will be about 90% hand me downs because i am kind of sick of buying pink baby clothes

Being pregnant I dont shop a lot, but before I did a lot of Old Navy and a little Gap... trying to hit the sales.
Answer:

My ds's wardrobe is about 20% preworn clothing and my dd has maybe 10% right now. I buy most of their clothing at deep discounts which usually is cheaper than the cosignment shop in our area.
Answer:

My ds clothes are about 50/50. My MIL makes trips to GoodWill every couple of weeks and finds all the good quality name brand clothes and gives me stacks of it every season. I buy ahead in sizes when I find great deals on clearance. I've NEVER walked into a store and bought something for my son at regular prices and he's 9!

My clothes are probably 90% retail with most of them bought at great discount. I can only think of a few items of clothing that I've spent over $10 on! My work is pretty casual so I can wear a lot of jean and twill pants and casual sweaters/shirts so that helps. I have a few things I really like that I bought at garage sales.
Answer:

I love kids clothes, probably 95 percent is gymboree from the store (on clearance of course I never pay full price for anything) and 5% gymboree from ebay. I do not buy clothes from yard sales because I buy new clothes so cheap and I never find anything but junky clothes there.
Answer:

WElllllll, my oldest dd has mostly brand new retail clothes, mostly Gymbo, Old Navy, and TCP. I do frequent CSs though, so I would say about 10% of her things are preworn.

My second dd has about %60 handmedowns from her sister, but we also like to buy her new stuff too. Lukilly, my MIL is a way bigger shopaholic than I am, so I don't usually spend alot on their clothes.

My ds had a good mix of both. I have lots of friends with boys bigger than him and they are constantly giving me handmedowns. I would say his wardrobe is about %75 preworn.
Answer:

My kids have a lot of hand me downs. My dh's cousin has a little boy just a little older than my son. She buys beautiful cloths. Just before school started, she sent 7 bags of cloths. I only had to fill in some socks, underwear and 2 pairs of jeans. I still buy some new cloths, but not much. I feel really fortunate.
