That is so interesting. I had genetic testing done on my second child. I wonder if the will get to the point where they can test for the gene through the mother's blood as they did mine. I know in my case, if I were to find out the probabilities of autism, and Aspergers, it would not have altered my pregnancy, but I would have had a chance to find out more about the condition and services needed, along with what warning signs to look out for. This could lead to much earlier intervention, as my son had no intervention until he was four, and no real therapy until six.

Wow! That is very interesting. We are having a genetic study done on our ds next month & I will bring up this finding when we go. It would be nice to see if we have something in our genes for the sake of future generations. I know autism is supposed to run in families & we can't find anyone (even in the extended families) in either mine or dh's that showed any signs. My ds only has an ADHD dx but is very borderline PDD (AS in particular). He doesn't have enough traits to qualify for a dx.
