Playing Board Games

Ask:
Do you let your child win? Or do you play fair?
Answer:

When my child was 2-3 I usually let him win. As he got older I played 'easy' on him but would win sometimes and let him win sometimes. He's 9 now and I still play 'easy' at times but he is more aware of it now.
Answer:

Well, I don't let them cheat, but I may not try my hardest until they are 6 or so. When they are really young, I think it is more important to encourage them to play. When they are 5 or 6 then they can start understanding the concept of losing sometimes.
Answer:

We play fair.
Answer:

My son usually invents his own ways to play so we usually go with that and he almost always wins. As he gets older though he will learn to play fair because my husband and I are very competitive!!
Answer:

I don't let him win, and he beats me sometimes! I think he needs to know that it is fun to play, but that nobody always wins. My hope is that he won't become a sore loser. And in my house, no matter who wins, we always congratulate the winner, even if we're mad we didn't win.
Answer:

Every once in awhile I thorw them a bone and delibratly lose. Not always. DD used to get very mad if she lost, now she accepts it as a part of playing and is fine if she doesn't win......most of the time.
