How many gifts do you give to each of your kids? (including Santa gifts but not including stocking stuffers.)
I'm just trying to figure out what's normal. I just found out over on the chit-chat thread that I'm not normal at all when it comes to this question!

I am giving two from us and two from Santa for each child, and then a few odds and ends in their stockings. So that is 4 per child, but eight total, and eight seems a lot to be bringing into the house all at one time.

Our kids get one gift from Santa and one gift from us plus stockings. (They are both school age.) Good thing they don't know any different.
However, they also get one gift each from each set of grandparents and from each aunt and uncle so they get a total of about 6 gifts at Christmas.

From my old over-buying days I have a toy stash built up that I am trying to use up, so I am giving two from each. The thought of all this new stuff is scaring me though... MORE stuff...ack!

we do one from santa, one from us, and one from each sibling. Then grandparents get them each a present, their godparents give them each presents, and great grandma gives them a gift, so they end up with 8 or 9 gifts total.

I feel horrible- my girls got 20 each- from Santa! I do however have to say at final count Christmas morning- 12 of the presents was clothing items, that was needed- each item wrapped seperately! They both got 2 large gifts (all 4 presents came to $60), 3 medium and 3 small (meaning crayons and the like). I do however plan on cutting back majorly next years Christmas! 1 "big" present and 2 smaller presents.

Warning to all stashers... I often stash gifts throughout the year, then pull everything out Christmas Eve and wrap. EACH kid got 19 gifts (14 from us, 5 from Santa) it was crazy! We thought we were doing great, scaling back and not "overdoing" it this year! OOF!
I will heed my own warning this upcoming year and not stash stuff. I obviously can't keep track of what I've purchased throughout the year!
btw.. the kids got gifts from both sets of grandparents, 2 aunts and a great grandma in addition to the stuff from us. Ouch. too much, too much.
