Ok, this might sound a little odd, but has he always been whiny?? Is it just more noticeable now b/c he is older? My SIL had this prob and is still fighting it. My 3 and a half year old tries to whine sometimes, but she has always known to "use her words". I know it sounds like an annoying thing to say but I have made her tell me what she wanted/how she was feeling since she was able to talk, and it has helped. My SIL is always saying it to my nephew now and it is starting to work.
Sometimes kids are just frusturated though and it helps to get on their level. What do you mean by temper??

I wish I knew my 4yrs old whines all the time. Now everytime I tell her to stop she just yells at me that I love the baby better. This hurts!

its the same as 2littleladies......i tell him to stop whining and then he gets mad at me. he yells "no" to me.
my boys are a year and 5 months apart and have been getting in some fighting. i have told them to use their words and to not hit eachother. i also tell them to call me when something happens instead of pushing eachother.
he is so stubborn. this summer we were trying to make him use the pedals on his trike instead of using his feet on the ground like Fred Flintstone. i go to put his feet on the pedals and there he goes getting all angry. BOYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
