Co-sleeping???

Ask:
Do you (or did you) co-sleep with your baby? What are the advantages and disadvantages? I have read mixed reviews on this. There is no right or wrong answers, just wondering how you all feel about it.
Answer:

I am against it. I think that unless you are willing to put an end to it early you will be fighting it for a long time. I dont know anybody tht has been able to ween the child out of this habit.
Answer:

I am neither for or against it. I think it is every family's choice. My first baby co-slept until she was 2 years old and then she went to a crib. SHe didn't like it at first, but she was fine after a few days. My second baby HATED sleeping with me from the start, so she has always been a crib baby.
Answer:

I like co-sleeping so far. We have a co-sleeper that she sleeps in and she can wake me up with just her grunting before she gets really pissed off. I can also just put her back once she nurses and she will put herself to sleep....we will see how long that lasts!
She likes her crib so far too. She has taken several naps there and sometimes lays in there when I need to set her down for a sec. I plan to stop co-sleeping when she can go thenight without eating or she is too big for the co-sleeper.
Answer:

OOk, when I said co-sleeping I meant like right next to me in the bed. I never had a c0-sleeper attachment to the bed. (Tho I wish I had!!)
Answer:

I have co-slept with two of my five. My third baby was a co-sleeper and when she was three she decided she wanted to sleep in her big girl bed one night and has ever since, no problems there. My fourth child still sleeps with me and he is three, but he has a big boy bed, and has been trying it out too. I definately think it is a personal choice, and each child is different, even within a family. My second child doesn't like anyone to sleep with her and she never has, even when she was a baby.

Answer:

Co-sleeping works at our house, where the motto is: "As long as there is sleep, let it be". Most of the world cosleeps with their children. It is not really an oddball thing at all.
Answer:

Those of you who cosleep, how big is your bed? We have always had a double and it is fine with just dh and I, but when a kid climbs in it gets a little crowded!
Answer:

We co-sleep and most of the time love it. However, there are those times when I wish we didn't.
Answer:

My first son slept in my room for the first year in my bed and then i moved into his room for about a year and then i moved back into my bedroom. He slept fine in his room.

With my second son he slept in my room for about a year and a half and then moved into his own room with no problem at all.

I liked having them close and i slept alot better knowing they were in my room with me.
