Purge! Purge! Purge!

Ask:
Ok, I'm playing a purging game. Anyone want to play along?

I just went into 3 rooms and forced myself to get rid of 3 things from each room. It was surprisingly easy! Here's what I purged:

Guest room/spare room:
1. Ziploc bag full of scrapbooking markers which are all pretty dried up! Why am I keeping them???
2. A glass snail paperweight that I never liked, but have kept for 15 years. It was given to me by a boss I did not like, from a job I hated... and had bad feelings all around! Be gone!!!
3. A videotape of The Jungle Book. I have two of these. Be gone.

Guest bath
1. A soft water testing kit, left behind by the previous owners. I've kept this, why?
2. An empty bottle of soft-scrub that keeps tipping over when the cabinet is opened ...
3. a small candle in the medicine cabinet, serving no purpose. Gone.

Laundry room
1. Empty bottle of hand sanitizer... was I going to refill this or something???
2. A bottle of Clean Shield, left by the previous owners. They put this on the mirrors in the house and I HATE it... can't use windex, it leaves a film all over. GONE.
3. An empty container of wet ones. What's with all my empty containers ???

What a bunch of junk... anyone else have anything to purge???

This was bound to happen- I was impatiently waiting for my mom to take the girls for an overnighter so I could purge the girls rooms- to make space for their new things from Christmas. I was trying to get rid of equal # of the new toys, how about I got rid of double the amount of new toys! I am guilty of having a mom who buys things constantly for my gilrs (they get something new every week!)- I only found a few broken toys in both rooms (filled half a kitchen sized garbage bag)- but for the nicer toys I filled 3 huge trash can containers! Yippee! Now I have to go and vacuum! It just dawned on me how pathetic I have become- Sat. night no kids and I am excited about getting rid of a bunch of toys? Gosh- I really need to get a life! !
Answer:

Does last night count??? We purged our girls rooms WITH their help.

papers..... TONS of them, with doodle marks and bleed through marker on them
dried up markers
broken crayons
candy wrappers! They aren't supposed to have ANY food of any kind in their rooms
broken toys
shoes shoes shoes outgrown and worn out and tons! I asked them to get rid of the shoes we are replacing as we buy them and instead I find them in the bottom of the closet. They still have too many but it's a huge start because these are SHOPPING girls! lol

All in all we filled up a garbage bag and this is after doing this LAST weekend!

We purchased three under the bed totes on sale at walmart and organized the toys so that they roll under and no more messes! They are only allowed to get out ONE type of tote stuff at a time and put it away before getting somthing else out. It works great!

I'm going to work on OUR bedroom next!.......

PS stevesgal your not the only one that can't wait until the kiddo's head to papa's or grammy's to clean! It's total bliss around here to clean and purge without guilt and uh mooooooooooooooom! NO! That's my favorite!!! I was keeping that....I'll pick it up..... aughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! cleaning while they are not home is better!
