Ask:
My hands seem to "fall asleep" really fast right now if I lay on them- and I usually like one arm under my head at night. This am I woke up and my right arm almost felt asleep, but not quite. I really felt tlike I had to shake it or rub it to get the feeling back in. Could it just be the pressure from the baby?
Also- anyone even had a red almost blood blister due to pregnancy? I have one on my thigh, and this week I nicked in while shaving- blood everywhere. It stopped by the time I got out. I put a bandaid on it, but the next morning getting dressed, it got bumped and started bleeding again. I showed it to Dr last week-before it bled- and he said to keep an eye on it- most likely will go away after pregnancy- but that is still 9 weeks away. Just wondering if anyone had any thing like it before.
Answer:
When I was pregnant I thought I developed carpel tunnel --- Every morning my fingers were swollen & couldn't bend well and kind of hurt when I used them... My hands also fell asleep rather quickly.
Turns out I was retaining water in my hands - I had never done that before, and I thought it'd go away after I gave birth. For the most part it's gone, but not entirely - every once in awhile I get the same thing, only to a much lesser degree.
Answer:
well- at least I know someone else has had this- thanks for the reply!
Answer:
When I was pregnant with DD, I use to get that tingling feeling in my hands at night a lot (it drove me crazy), but soon went away after she was born. I'm about 27 weeks pregnant now with second child and I'm starting to get it again.
My gyn said I could try wearing one of those braces for carpel tunnel syndrome, but did seem all confident in it really helping.
Answer:
I had it something awful with my second pregnancy along with carpal tunnel. I could hardly sleep the pain was so bad. It all went away after he was born. I guess being 10 pounds he must have been pushing on something!
Answer:
Carpal tunnel is not uncommon during pregnancy. When I worked in the Orthopaedic clinic, many pregnant ladies came in with it. You could ask for a referral to PT/OT. They can give you some exercises that should give you some relief in the next couple of months, and I would TRY the braces. They keep your wrists flexed, so the carpal nerve doesn't get compressed as much. Good luck, and I hope you get relief soon!!!
Answer:
I think I had carpel tunnel for a while. I found some internet sites saying if you aren't hidrated enough you can retain water and this will mput pressure on your nerves. The braces helped me be comfortable, but mine went away once i started drinking enough
Answer:
I had carpel tunnel surgery on both my arms before I was pregnent, but I continued to have that feeling even after the surgeries, even now. I have to sleep on my back w/ my arms straight and under my rear so I don't bend them or they fall asleep and my elbows hurt.
Answer:
I had carpule tunnel when I was prego and sometimes my right arm would go numb up to my elbow. I had to wear wrist braces while working. It is a comman thing as you retain more fluid.
