Convertible Car Seat

Ask:
I am soon going to have to switch my son to a convertible car seat. I have been looking at them in the stores and see that they can range from the $70's to well over $200. I am a middle of the road kinda gal when it comes to this kinda stuff...not the least expensive, not the most expensive.
Can anyone suggest theirs?

Thanks!
Answer:

Our is a Safety 1st and will last Aidan till he no longer needs one. The IL's bought it for us, so I'm not sure how much it cost.
Answer:

We have the Evenflo Triumph 5 for both of our boys and are very happy with it. It costs about $120 and goes up to 40 lbs/40 inches. Consumer Reports has rated them well in the past.
Answer:

We're still Britax all the way. We have the Marathon, which will work up to 65lb. Worth it to us.
Answer:

I have the Eddie Bauer® Deluxe Convertible Car Seat from Target for $119.99 I like it quite a lot. Though, if you have a small car and plan to use it as a rear facing seat for a while at first, it is very difficult because the back is long. You would have to watch out for this on most convertibles. Otherwise, I like this carseat.

I only wish that there were more room on the sides of the head rest for my son to sleep. Usually his head kind of flops down when he is sleeping in this car seat.

Though, I do like side pockets, a sippy cup fits nicely. The straps are easy to use also.

Here is the link.

Good luck!
Answer:

We have Britax seats, I would recommend the Marathon (although I think it has a different name now, not sure) as it goes up to 65 lbs. Love it! It was a bit pricey, but well worth it to us.
Answer:

Triumph and we love it, we also have another one, I'm not sure of the brand but I'll look at it later today, we like it too.

The triumph we have has a tendency for the straps to get all folded and wrinkled but its easy enough to deal with. The other one isn't as bad, I'll look at it in a little while when I go out to take some stuff to goodwill.

I have the Britax Roundabout (which I think only goes up to 40 lbs.) then we have an Eddie Bauer High Back Booster to switch over to . And I have always heard good things about the Britax Marathon.
