This is the site I used to teach myself how to do it.
You CAN use a pillowcase if you want too. I prefer not to, you get more varity in your fabrics otherwise.
The absolute trickies part is learning to do the arm holes. I had the worst time figureing it out from her instructions, I ended up doing it my own way. What I do is take the strip of fabric from the bottom and fold it in half, Iron it. Then take the top half, fold it down to the middle and iron it down. Do the same with the bottom half, so that the raw edges meet in the middle. Then start with the dress inside out, and sew it onto the top of the arm hole. Then turn it right side out, and swe the rest of binding on the arm hole.
This is where I get creative with diffrent fabrics. Like on this one, I used the orange for the binding just to get some contrast.
And this one too, I used the fabric that was in the matching shorts for the arm hole binding.
Another thing I like to do, is use the cut out that I made of the arm hole, and use it to make a pocket on the front of the dress/top.
