Ask:
My grandmother, who was a very talented decorator, said that every room should have a touch of red in it, whether a throw pillow, in art work, a piece of glassware, or what-have-you. Has anyone else heard this and does anyone else do it?
I think that I have red in almost every room.....living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, one bathroom and two bedrooms.
Answer:
Unless you count kids toys, I don't. The closest I have is Brick colored curtains in the computer/playroom (that used to be a dining room).....and I do like those!
Whoops...ETA: I have a few red picture frames in the living room, I just walked in there and saw them and came back to edit this. Nothing red in the other rooms though.
Answer:
Yep, I have red in every room. In my old house I had a room that had walls painted red on the lower half. It was my favortie room. I love red!
Answer:
Yes I have heard of this.....I think on Surprise by Design by Robert or Rebecca.....however, I don't do it. I do have red in some rooms, but not all of them.
Answer:
Why red? Does it have to do with mood?
Answer:
My slipcovers in my living room are red.
I have seen home shows where there is some red in the kitchen. I like that.
Answer:
I never have heard of that but Red is one of my favorites so I do have it in most rooms as the primary color in 3
Answer:
I think it is to give a bit of vibrance and interest. I've also heard that you should have a touch of black, but I don't know if that is a more recent trend or as long standing as red.
Answer:
Its in my kitchen b/c I have an apple theme, which is going away at my garage sale, There is no red in my living room but I do have an entire room, very small one that is painted red. My SIL painted it before we moved in and its really pretty cute. Doesn't match the rest of the house at all but oh well.
Answer:
I have 1 red wall in my kitchen and my living roon has a red area rug, I also have it in the bedroom and both baths. My walls are painted a canteen green, and the red just sets it off. Am tempted to paint more of the kitchen red.
