My decluttering advice II

Ask:
Go as long as you can without doing laundry. Look at the clothes you still have in your closet when you feel you're getting desperate. THOSE are the clothes you don't wear. Declutter those first.
Answer:

EXCELLENT POINT HERE!!!!!! You get 5 stars from me today!!!
Answer:

GREAT advice. Now, if I would just take it!
Answer:

That is great advice! Since we live in an apartment sometimes we get down to hardly anything. Now that I think about it, I have alot of clothes that I do not wear. Thanks I am going to have to rethink this process!
Answer:

I have a very hard time getting rid of the clothes I wore when I worked. I cant even fit into them but I think I keep them becuase they are the nicest things I have and if I get rid of them that will be the last of my nice things. I would only have t-shirts and jeans left.
I really should take your advice.
Answer:

I'm actually already doing this but for a different reason. I'm on a weight-loss mission and have shed 37lbs so far. As I grow out of things, I put them in a pile and take them to the drop off box every 2 weeks. This will also motivate me to not put the weight on again, because I'll have nothing to grow into!

Here's another idea, and now is a great time of year to do it:

Take all the clothing in your closet and turn the hangers around backwards (hooks facing the back instead of the front). Each time you wear something, turn the hanger the right way. At the end of the year, evaluate the things on the hangers that are still facing the wrong way. it meant you didn't wear them at all this year and you should get rid of them.

That is a good idea, BUT, If I didn't do the laundry I'd have a melt down, and my dh would think I had 'lost my mind' I'm such a laundry-aholic!!!
I think Kim's idea would work better for me, although I have been doing really well at sorting thru my closet and taking things to the consignment shop, the problem is, I keep bringing different stuff home from there!! Oh well, at least I'm not paying full price for the stuff, and it fits me better than my old stuff!!
