Anyone have any tips or funny stories about home hair cuts?

Well, my dh *thinks* he can cut hair. But the last time he cut Aiden's...it looked so bad he said he'd never try again. The first cut he did was SO crooked, that I had to take over & I'm by no means a barber. The poor kid had a funny cut for awhile!

I;ve screwed up dd's hair. I hate to pay someone just to snip her bangs. Dont feel to bad I think every kid in america has had a bad cut. You should see pictures of my dh from age 2 to about 14

I've never even tried to cut my boys' air with the scizzors. If it can't be done with the electric razor than I'm not doing it

my ds has a bowl cut and it is pretty easy for me to trim as long as I put a movie in to keep him still. But I can't see spending that money on his hair. If I mess up to bad I'll just havt to buzz it. Good thing he's a boy.

Well, I used both the electric razor and some scissors!
I think I got nervous with the razor......what setting do you all use the razor on?
Do you use it all over?............I did the razor on the back and sides and trimmed the top with scissors. It is just a lot shorter than I expected since I put the razor on level 7!

I almost always cut my childrens' hair. Why? I get so tired of fixing what I PAID to have done!!! Dh took our 12 year old son for a haircut last week...Mom isn't cool enough! Well, apparently, I am cooler than he thinks, since he came to me asking me to fix it this time! It isn't exactly the look we were going for, since I am by no means a barber, either, but it works! It is definitely better than the haircut he paid to have!

Oh....I always start with the 8, but I am BAD...on the back and sides, I usually go with a 4 or 5!!! I like it short..lasts longer!
