What common things do you go without?

Ask:
I was just thinking about this. We are conditioned to believe so many things are "necessary" but in reality they're not hard to do without.

Here are a couple things that come to mind:
A snowblower (OK, we would really like to get one, but we've survived in MN without one for 13+ years of married life so I hate to break down now)
An electric can opener
Changing table (our two kids made it through diapers without getting one)
Answer:

I never had a changeing table. Ok well I did have one but never used it so I got rid of it.

I've got one: Most elecrtic kitchen appliances. Like a rice cooker. I have I use it a lot but why?
Answer:

A cell phone. We have one but I think we've only made one phone call from it in the past 2 months. it's an additional line on my in-laws phone, and we just have it for emergencies (I travel a lot with my son to NY).
Answer:

Before I moved into dh's house, I had never lived in a house that had a dishwasher.

Now, we don't have:
Ipods
Game stations
Answer:

We dont have

a snowblower
an electric can opener
never had a changing table
any type of matching sets of almost anything (furniture, silverware)
tv in every room
stereo
newer cars
SUV

I know there is more, but I can't think of it right now
Answer:

Never had a changing table or playpen, or gates, or baby carrier, etc. I had very basic stuff and just packed my kids around and kept them with me all the time. We had a two story house and a basement (so two sets of stairs) and still never had any gates and got along fine.

We also don't have cable TV.
Answer:

We have never had a snow blower, or any game stations. This house has our very first dishwasher. (couldnt live without one now)
Answer:

I dont have an electric can opener or a regular toaster (I do have a toaster oven that makes toast fine)

We dont have a big stereo system, we use our dvd player for CDs. Listen to a little radio in the kitchen or use the dishs music channels.

I had a changing table for ds1 but gave it away before ds2.

I used the heck out of the fancy stroller with the car seat in it, so second ds only had a very basic stroller.

I will always have a dishwasher I went without when we first moved in our house but it was cfheaper than marriage counseling for fighting over who had to do the dishes for the 10th time that day!
Answer:

We don't have a snowblower (in Illinois--kind of wish we did after our 14 inches of snow in December)

Electric can opener
Changing table
Video games
only 1 TV in the house
most kitchen appliances (except a stand mixer and I have 2 crock pots)

But some things I would have difficulty living without:
Cell phone (use it CONSTANTLY for long distance as it's free!)
Dishwasher
Washer and dryer (we had a wringer washer and a line growing up...)
Answer:

Electric can opener
Cofee maker
