Baby massage

Ask:
Any one do baby massage? do you think it really helps calm baby?
Answer:

ABSOLUTELY! DD is now 5 but we started with her at about 2 months. She was very gassy and there were several strokes that worked like miracles with her. It was also very relaxing for both of us. At first she was a little hesitant with some touches, especially around her face, but then she loved it. We will definitely be using it on ds (coming on Monday!!)

Check with your local hospital for classes. The classes are very important for teaching technique. I wouldn't rely on just a book. Good luck!
Answer:

I had planned on doing this with ds since I'm a snuggly, massage loving, new age parent myself. However, ds had other plans. He hated to have his clothes off, and was happiest in his bouncer or car seat watching me! I did despair, having a non-cuddly baby. However, he has turned into a very cuddly little boy and now loves to snuggle. I would definitely try, however. You don't know if you don't try, and in Most cases I'm sure it would be well received!
Answer:

My little guy loved to cuddle, but didn't like massages. Then, I later found out why - it wasn't me, as I thought - he had Sensory Integration Disorder - massages were like burrs to him, and he wasn't patient enough to hold still - wiggly.

Little diva loves them and just lays there, relaxing and humming, unless, of course, there's somewhere she just has to be.
