Ask:
My son is now 19 months old. I still do not give him a pillow yet. At what age have you given your kids their first pillows to sleep on?
Answer:
When they started asking for one! My kids would start liking to lay on my pillow, etc. and that is the point that I would give them one of their own. However, I always started off with a smaller travel pillow. Unless he asks, though, I wouldn't worry about giving him one. I have read it is actually better for our body's alignment NOT to sleep with one.
Answer:
When we moved them to a toddler bed. I never put the pillow in a crib, but both my kids were in toddlers bed early, dd #1 at 18 mos and ds at around the same.
Answer:
I gave dd hers around 18mths. I bought on of those small travel pillows for her to use first. She switched to a regular pillow about 4-6 months later. She still likes to use her smaller pillow in the living room and that is what I take for when we travel and she uses the sleeping bag.
Answer:
I started mine off with a small travel pillow about 14 or so months. My oldest is now 3 and I gave him a regular pillow when he was about 2, but he still cuddles with his "baby" pillow
Answer:
My oldest DD had a pillow at around 14 months. DD who is 17 months doesn't have any interest in them. I think 18 months is average in our family though.
Answer:
I gave my older son a regular pillow right before he turned two (when he moved to his big boy bed from the crib). My 15-month old doesn't have one yet and probably won't get one until he moves to his regular bed as well (at least 2).
Answer:
Mine got his junior sized one when he got his big bed, at age 3. I noticed he liked to use mine.
Answer:
Ds got his first pillow when he got his big boy bed. He was 3 (he had a toddler bed up to that point that I still didn't put a pillow in). I just made sure his pillow was the FLATTEST I could find!
