Is anyone bathing their baby in the kitchen sink?

Ask:
We have an oversize kitchen sink and have been bathing ds in it for a year now. I was wondering if we should keep on doing what we're doing until he outgrows it or should we switch him to the bathtub. DH doesn't want to have to get down on the bathroom floor and I'm not crazy about it either. But...is ds missing out on anything?
Answer:

I think it really is up to you. I am a believer in "if it ain't broke don't fix it" to some extent. I have 4 girls, and my youngest just turned 2. Up until about a month ago I still bathed her in the kitchen sink. She fit, so why not? My other girls prefer to shower, and I didn't want to stick her in there until I got a mat so that she wouldn't slip as easily.

With my oldest I did bathe her in the tub for awhile, but found it not as comfortable for me, and harder to control her. That's when we started showering her instead, and for us that just worked out much better.

HTH ~ Good luck!
Answer:

I agree with Kelli!! If it works for you than do it!!
Answer:

I bathe my 8 mo. old in a tub in the sink. I didn't do it with my other 2 kids but after the third one, my back began to ache. And the reason why I use a tub is because I'm so afraid of salmonela germs and other raw meat stuff even after I disinfect. It works for us.
Answer:

I agree. Do what is comfortable and works. He ain't gonna be there when he's 16! He's near your face, can splash, is safe and I'm sure happy, and the tub will be there when baby is too big for the sink! Enjoy it while you can.
Answer:

Mydd is 14mos. and the sink is definately best for us right now. She constantly wants to stand up in the tub. In the sink she is more confined and I can reach her better. I do make sure I sanatize teh sink really good first.
Answer:

We used the sink up until about two months ago. She just started splashing too much and I had a bigger mess to clean up. I got a bath seat for her and she sits in that in the big tub and she loves it. It is the one with the arm rest for me so I don't mind it at all.

But whatever works best for you. I don't think they are missing anything either way.
