Answer:
Wow! Do you not have any car payments? That's where a lot of our $ goes to. Our mortgage is also a bit more than yours, as are our utility bills. I don't have a breakdown right now, but it's great to see that you have everything accounted for. Dh and I are in the process of setting up the envelope system, so we'll see how that goes. Staying away from stores has helped sooo much in the last few weeks, though! Thanks for sharing your breakdown.
Answer:
Basic budget ...
Earn money
Spend it until it is gone.
Hope the deposits arrive at the bank before the withdrawls.
Chortle!!!
I really need to look at our spending more closely. We've been on autodrive for far too long.
Answer:
Kathryn, your budget is vey similar to mine. Our income is $3600 per month but I'm paying almost triple payments on my van to get it paid off quickly. One question, our gas and car insurance is twice what yours is. Do you have just one car? We are a two car family, so maybe that's the difference.

Yes, we are a one car family so that explains the difference.

Our car insurance for 2 SUV's (full coverage) is only $87/month... $150 sounds pretty steep to me..
Answer:
Our monthly bring home pay is about the same as yours. But our bills are different.
*our mortgage is a couple hundred higher
*homeowner insurance is not included in our monthly mortgage
*we have a van payment
*utilities are all seperate
*we have life insurance
*we have credit card debt from biulding our house, and times when no overtime and well went up and such
So we get buy month to month with a little extra to make a large pymt. on credit card.

$150 includes the gas, right now about 85 cents a litre ($3.23 a gallon) ... gas is pricey here and we don't use the car that much, we try and walk when we can.
Answer:
I can share a basic one, we don't detail alot of our spending.
7,600 after taxes and deductions monthly. This doesn't include money I get for being a childcare provider, that money goes into a seperate account in my name only for homeschooling supplies, spending money, savings, etc.
$3200 Mortgage and HOA No I don't have a mansion, that is for a townhome in this area that I live in. In TX I would have acres and huge house for that...but he can't make 6 figures in TX either so it all evens out
$150 Utilities
$120 Cell Phone (my dh's, I don't have one)
$200 my dh's spending money he blows on junk
$1200 Car and Van payments yes I know that is too much but my dh just had to have his dream car, don't get me started on that one! That is a whole other thread! UGH
$300 CC, I use for the CC rebates and then pay off, I am just apx an average on this one.
Insurance I pay all at once but if I paid monthly it would be around $200 a month for car, home and life.
$1,200 for all expenses food, diapers, cosco purchases, grocery store, gas, clothes whatever else, we tend to spend $600 every paycheck.
rest goes in 5 seperate savings accounts or spent on whatever comes up that month and I like to keep at least a $500 cushion in for any unexpected medical or whatnot expenses. I donate alot to charities instead of tithing to churches, but I don't budget that or have a set amount and I tend to use the money in my account for that as well so I didn't include that on here.
Answer:
I honestly forget what dh makes per check. Around 2200 per month? That is after putting in 403B (or whichever one it is???) and putting in quite a bit into our HSA. THis HSA is kinda weird b/c when we use it it counts towards our deductible.
Anyway...
620 for mortgage.
150 for phone, electricity, and gas. NO CABLE/DISH here!
We average around 250 for gas for our vehicles.
155 for groceries/toiletries (We get free beef thru dh's family - cattle and grain farmers)
50 for diapers (still trying to potty train our ds)
25 for eating out (we gotta have at least one date a month)
5 for entertainment
15 for haircuts
20 for gifts
55 for miscellaneous
35 for clothing
We tithe 10%
We save 350 per month to be able to purchase our next vehicle(s) down the road after our current ones die.
We save 50 per month for "vacation". This is for little get aways - overnighters for us or just a water park.
Any extra $$ we make thru DH's freelancing, my home business, and my teaching goes to pay for insurance etc.
