OK...does anyone have any good ideas for a birthday gift for 14 year old boy??? My sons birthday is in about 2 weeks and with christmas just gone buy...he doesn't need or want anything. But it's his birthday , so I feel like I have to get him something!!!!

That's lousy having a bday so close to christmas. For my ds's bday he usually gets gift cards or books. Does he like to read? Or a new video game? Or some music? If you can't think of anything special, I'd just get him a "token" gift and then maybe a gift card that he could spend later. HTH

What about cash? I know some people think that is tacky, but the teenagers I know would LOVE to receive cash or even gift cards to their favorite store.

I work in a party retail store nights and weekends for my 2 nd job and we do balloons. I have seen people roll up money and then put it in a latex balloon and then we blow it up. Its money which all teenagers love but packaged in a fun way.
Also I have a 14 yo girl and she loves guitar hero for Playstation and a lot of her friends guys and girls love it too. Of course everyone on our block loves the ddr (DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION) and that includes the 14 yo across the street.

Thanks so much for the ideas. I thought about money...but the kid has more$$ then I do, he never spends any of it!!! I will be checking out guitar hero and DDR...we actually thought about getting him DDR for christmas, I had forgotten about that. A DDR question, his PS2 is in a competed room over the garage. The ceilings are kinda low...how much jumping around is involved. DO boys like it or is guitar hero better for guys????

I would say a gift card from the place that your son loves to get things from, whether it's music, sports gear, clothes, even food....

Well I know that the boys like to do ddr at the mall as do girls. We always know when they are playing that game tho!! We have a one level house I don't know if I would be to thrilled if we had an upstairs. I work with 2 or 3 teenage boys at my 2nd job(retail) and they were like Cool when I told them we got the girls guitar hero. It might make a difference if he likes all kinds of music. Some of it is old school and I will recognize it. But dd2 is into records and bands like Queen, Eagles, etc.
