Ask:
I donate tons of stuff to Goodwill and so on and I was thinking about selling a few things on Craigslist (I also do Freecycle). I went through my youngest clothes and had tons of outgrown- gently used, some new and play clothes. I was contemplating on having a yard sale but really could use some of the space it is taking up so i decided i would try to sell them on craiglist. I was wondering if anyone has ever sold anything on there and what price do you think I should sell them for. What I have is 2 garbage bags (the biggest ones- Lawn and Leaf)- full to the brim of 18 month- 2T girls clothes (all seasons) also I have a toddler bed Pooh comforter a few hangers and 2 snowsuits and 2 winter coats and a few other coats. I think I also have 2 pairs of boots (not worn) and a pair of sandels. There is a lot of name brand and also lower priced clothes. At first I was thinking $50 but thought maybe I could try for more- What do you think? Thank you?
Answer:
If it were me I think I would divide the clothes up into the different sizes 18, 24 and 2T and sell them in lots. So you would have a lot of size 18 mos and a lot of size 24 mos, etc. and then price the lots according to their size. The other items I would sell seperately. I think you would get more money out of them that way.HTH
Answer:
I sell ALOT on CL and I don't advise trying to sell clothes on there. Now baby toys and gear do great, but clothes are VERY hard to sell on there. I even tried selling Gymboree for $2 a piece on there and nothing sold, meanwhile I sold those same pieces for over $10 each on ebay.
I do love CL so you can try, but you might just want to consign them if you don't want a yard sale! GOOD LUCK!
