Ask:
This month-so far-I have managed to put 300.00 into our savings account, pay 800.00 towards our 5000.00 cc debt, paid an extra 100.00 towards our mortgage. I have managed to have all our bills paid on time and we STILL have at least 200.00 'extra' money left over! Now my husband got a raise which equals about 240.00 extra each month that we have not had before. Normally I only pay about 200-300 each month towards our cc but I am dying to get rid of it.
I really want to take control of our finances starting now. My husband made 85,000 last year and we only saved 2500.00.......we paid off nothing.....we just went shopping and bought anything and everything we wanted. I did managed to pay 2000.00 cc debt off in 06 but coulda done alot more. My DH brings home almost 5000.00/month and our bills come to about 3000.00 per month and that includes putting 200 into our savings account each month. Now we still have to buy groceries and gas and my huibby eats lunch out everyday at work but still we should have at minimum of 1000.00 each month to pay down down and to add extra to savings. I am gonna do it this year!

with $5k in cc debt, and an $800 pmt just made, you have $4200 left.. 6 more months and that baby will be GONE! Keep up the good work - and when you've paid it off, go to the next one.. or if there isn't another, pay your savings account!

That's wonderful!!! We are in just about the exact same boat!!! My dh makes what your dh does and we did the same thing. It's true, it's not how much you make, it's how much you spend that makes a person financially 'wealthy'.
Good for you, what an accomplishment.
