Our pre tax health care account allows us to even purchase over the counter medications, first aid supplies, etc... with this money that is NOT taxed!
This is the BIGGEST savings we have ever taken advantage of - using these types of accounts offered by my husband's employer.

I'd like to second this wonderful tip.
Having our healthcare, 401k and one other supplies reimbursement program taken out before taxes reduces our tax burden. If it weren't for that, our taxable income would be much higher.
