Ask:
I have a hard time finding activites that we can do together. When it is warm I take them out to the swingset or to a park. My 14 month old sticks everything in her mouth so we are limited. I usually end up sitting on the floor and letting them pick the toys. Any ideas?

How about music?? I know with my kids we had a bunch of "kid" type instruments...drums, xylophones, maracas, that type of thing. And we'd play kids songs and they'd "Play" their instruments along to the music. Or play doh (I can hear people groaning now ). I would put my toddler in a high chair and let them play with the play doh on the tray. Your preschooler could sit at the table and do it. Then they both could be entertained while you're cleaning the kitchen or cooking, etc. and you could keep an eye out for the everything in the mouth problem. HTH

We have instruments but I should probably put them away together and get them out like as an organized activity - great idea. I also love the play doh in the high chair idea. I will make some play doh so I don't feel so bad if she eats it. Thanks!!

Here is a game from You Tube you can play if you have Gallactic Heros.
Very much rated "G".

My ds is 4 1/2 and my dd is 1 1/2. We paint together. I have bought them both smocks and washable paint. I cover the table also and put my dd in her booster seat and they sit next to each other and paint. My dh thinks I'm crazy for doing this, but they love it so much and its easy to clean up.

im a big believer in putting away toys so they are new again.
when i am staying home for the day (no activities) i pull out the playdoh after breakfast and its all new and exciting. then blues clues comes on so i let them watch and clean up the playdoh. after blues clues i empty out the toybox on the floor and you'd be amazed at how they replay with the stuff that gets buried. so i do that for 30 min then snacktime. then i chase them around the house and play hide and go seek and do physical stuff for 30 min then dora or the wonder pets are on, so then for another half hour they watch that while i do chores. after that 30 min i bring out the kid scissors/stapler and stickers (theres something about scissors and that stapler!) and that kills another 30 min...then i put a story tape in their cassette thing, dump their books on my bed and they listen to that and "read" their books on my bed while i put away laundry, clean my bathroom and such.
then its time for lunch, naps and then im good to go.
i just keep the activities down to 30 min and stop them while they are still having fun...cause if they get sick of doing one thing, it takes them a long time to want to do it again.
that's what works for me since my oldest isnt really a "toy" kid. she can take them or leave them. thats why i rotate them to keep her interested.

Thanks for sharing your routine. My oldest has recently lost interest in toys as well. I do rotate them but she gets bored quickly.
