get well cards

Ask:
I would like for my 2 yo DS to make his two grandpas get well cards (they're both in the hospital ).. I was hoping you guys could give me some suggestions on what to do. I thought maybe I'd use the valentine's idea of the "i love you THIS big" with the traced hands and ribbon as long as his arms stretch from side to side. And then put in the middle something about a hug to cheer them up or something. I don't know - I'm still thinking on it. I'd like to get it out in the mail for my dad tomorrow, so I'd like to do it sometime today or this evening. I tried googling for ideas, but didn't come up with much. Just activities to do when kids are sick, which doesn't help me much. Any suggestions/ideas? Thanks

I don't have any brilliant ideas for you but yours sounds ADORABLE! I think I will steal it for my 2 year old to give his Grandparents as Valentines. I am sorry about the Grandpas and hope that they feel better soon!

What I did for my grandpa just this week is I had the boys paint a picture.....and it was any way they wanted it to be. I cut it out so it would fit on the front of the card stock. On the inside of the card they put some stickers and stamps in there and I fixed a picture of them in the card. On the backs, I glued on their handprints and wrote underneath: Handywork by Ty, and Handywork by Zach on each of the cards they decorated!!!

I did what I wrote above.. but I mailed the one to my dad without taking a picture. d'oh. I'll finish the one for my FIL and take a picture of that one. DH thought it was insanely adorable and told me my dad would LOVE it. I let DS draw on the cutout heart with a white oil pastel stick just for an added touch. here's the saying I used on the heart in the center:

Sending you hugs
BIG and WIDE
with hope they'll
make you feel
better inside!
Get Well Soon!
I love you Poppa!
Love, Elijah

I'll post a picture of the other when finished. and..... now that i used this idea for a get well card, i have to come up with something else for v-day! lol

Aww! I don't doubt those will end up framed eventually..
Answer:

If they are get well cards, you could have them trace their hands, and then stick bandaids on them!
