My BIL & SIL have a judgement against them from a hospital for medical bills. They can barely make ends meet much less pay a lawyer to pay a lawyer to file for them. Is there a way then can successfully file on their own? Or does anyone know where they can get free legal help? They reside in OK.

I know that there are ways that you can file without a lawyer but I am unsure of how and if they will get everything that they need. We started our process last year in February and used our tax money for the lawyer. It does cost a good chunk of money which to me makes no da*n sense because that is why you are filing because you cannot afford to live as it is.
My best advice is to go to a free credit counselor. Also, lawyers usually give a free consultation and can give them some advice on what to do. The credit counselors will try and push them to not file and pay a monthly fee to them. Here is a website that gives free legal advice.
