It has been 5 years since I was pg. My best friend who lives 1200 miles away is pg with her 2nd child. If you were her, what would be a great gift?

Spa gift certificate for before the baby is born. Both my kids were induced, so I knew when they were going to be born. I spent the day before at the spa, getting a manicure, pedicure and massage.
Also I would suggest maybe a cleaning service or food gift certificate.
Nice slippers for the hospital.

My favorite maternity underwear was Bravado. Perhaps a gift certificate (online) for Babycenter.com. A gift card (online will do, too) for Barnes & Noble for the ubiquitous baby books. A nice robe - great for before and after birth. A service to prepare meals, especially the needed and hard to find SALADS after birth. We never have time or energy to make them, yet need those nutrients.

I would suggest a few movies. I watched a lot of TV while breast feeding!
If she likes Sex in the City, those season DVD's are great because each episode is only 30 minutes long.
A gift certificate for maternity clothes or the book "What to Expect when Expecting". You can find this book usually at resale book shops. I know I did for myself!
Movie tickets or gift certificate to her favorite restaurant.
I do like the spa idea.....or even just a pedicure or manicure.
Maybe some nice smelling lotions from Bath and Body Works too.
