Resisted Temptation!

Ask:
So my best friend had a Premier designs jewelry party this Sunday. She is a spender to say the least. When she and I used to go shopping together we would spend all day and spend a couple hundred each, easily.

I was a little nervous to go to the party b/c jewelry used to be a big weakness of mine. So I went and watched the presentation and found some jewelry I thought was cute (silver, western style) but the earrings were $19! Which I normally wouldn't have thought twice about but since I am living frugally now I thought, hmmm...

I just gave away a ton of jewelry to my neice this Christmas b/c I don't wear it anymore. I gave her probably 30 pieces and still have nearly that many left. But some of it is stuff from dh or family and then some silver and turq. she wouldn't have worn and I just love.

So even though I know she expected me to buy something (b/c she gets a certain amount of free for her guests spending so much) I didn't buy anything! I was so proud of myself, and I don't feel guilty for spending money on something I don't need.

Besides the rest of the guests spent enough that she got $304 dollars of free jewelry anyway! So mine wouldn't have made a difference.

Thanks to you ladies I resisted the urge~

Good for you! I know home parties can be filled with pressure to buy, but if it wasn't a "must have" then you did the right thing. I bet you feel much better with your success, than you would have with a new pair of earrings!

Congrats! I've always wanted to have a jewelry party. I am thinking after I get out of debt a little more.
