Ask:
Hi. A friend of mine just had her third baby last week and is partly formula feeding. She is looking to get the best deal on formula she can find. I'm kind of at a loss as I never formula fed, so I thought I would get some recommendations from you ladies. What store has the best deal on baby formula? What is the best store brand? Does it ever go on sale? I know you can get coupon checks from Similac, Enfamil, and Carnation through their websites and EBay, but are there any other ways to get coupons for formula? Any information you can share would be appreciated. Thanks!
Answer:
Towards the end of breastfeeding both girls, I used Kirkland (Costco brand) formula. It's just under $20 for TWO cans, kind of between the typical small and large can size. Both girls did fine with this formula.

I just switched my ds over to the parent's choice (walmart) a 25 oz can which is pretty decent sized well the bigger can of similac compares anyway i get 2 parents choice cans basically for the price of ONE same size can of similac. Our budget just couldn't handle the similac coupons or not! anyway he's doing great with it.
Answer:
I used Similac ( I think it is slightly cheeper than Enfamil) and got the checks from them, but they aren't as liberal as they used to be. Right now, Walmart has the combo package with the large can and the ready made Qt bottle. If I remember the timing right, Target will have this Combo next. Last year Target put these on clearance when the special was up. I stocked up then and had probably over 40 cans and 40 Qts. The bottles were nice for when you are tired and don't want to mix a batch of powder and for when you are going to granparents' housefor a few days.
There is a $5 Similac coupon in the current issue of ALL You and a few times a year one comes in the Sunday paper.
If Similac isn't on sale anywhere, then it is cheaper at Sams. I'm not sure about Costco or BJ's (don't have them here).
