I know a bunch of us use Gardening to stay frugal and some of us are looking to gardening as an attept to be MORE frugal. I personally want to try and grow my own things this year. Essp Tomatoes, I really seem to have that black thumb! I think a garderning section would be a great thing for helpful hints and questions about gardening. Maybe a subforum in this section?? Or a stickey? Feel free to tell me NO, thats dumb!

Hi! I might be able to give you a few hints on your tomatoes. We own greenhouses, do annuals & veggies, and my husband is a grower. We do mostly wholesale through our broker but also have a small retail. What kind of info. are you looking for? I think the gardening idea is great. We are all looking for those little hints!

I would love, love, love it! There is so much wisdom on this forum. I know nothing about gardening. My dh and have been mulling over the idea for the coming spring. I've always been apprehensive, I too have a black thumb. Shoot, I probably have killed silk plants!

This would be great as I am starting a veggie garden also this year. We are also interested in fruits, and fruit trees. I have received some wonderful tips from some ladies on the board, but it would be nice to be able to keep them in the same area for reference.

I the idea. I have never gardened before. We have only been in this house 2 years and it took us a while to get settled and make a plan for the yard. This is the year to start the garden and I don't even know where to begin! I have to take out grass to even start. How big? What should I plant? How do I tell what is a weed and what is a vegetable? I seriously know nothing about gardening but I would to learn.
